About My Bear Mitzvah
My Bear Mitzvah is a fun, interactive, unique service program for bar/bat mitzvah parties and youth groups with the ultimate aim to deliver a teddy bear to every sick child around the world.
The ‘My Bear Mitzvah’ project uses top quality bears from the Build a Bear company.
At your Bar/Bat Mitzvah we will set up and staff a station where your guests will have everything they need to color in a cub condo, that the box the bears will be delivered in,
Your bear will have a custom designed tee on them, e.g., Get well soon from Daniel's Bar Mitzvah.
We will ship them to Children's Hospitals with a disposable camera, return envelope and instructions to take pictures of the kids and their families enjoying your bears so you can add those pictures to your album to preserve the memory.
In Judaism, some believe that visiting the sick is one of the 613 mitzvot in the Torah while others believe the rabbis derived it from the commandment, “thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself (Lev. 19:18).
